Originally from the Netherlands, Ylona Supèr holds a BA in Sculpture and a BA and MA in Theatre Studies from Ghent University. Over the years, she has worked with numerous festivals, artists and designers as a producer, alongside her practice as a dramaturg and writer of libretti for contemporary opera. She is currently a board member of the Ceramics Union Iceland and co-founder of ceramics studio MÓR in Hafnar.Haus.

Her artistic practice moves between ceramics, print and writing, with storytelling at its core. She is interested in how we communicate emotions and how ancient forms of storytelling and imagery can be brought into the present through material, texture and surface. Her work also explores locally found materials gathered during walks in nature, reflecting on our relationship with the landscapes we inhabit and how we can engage with them more consciously. She lives and works in Iceland.
